The theoretical knowledge you gain in the Heavy Duty Equipment Motive Power Technician courses, combined with the hands-on experience in state-of-the-art labs, gives you an ideal start to a fulfilling career in the heavy duty equipment field.
The focus of the program is on applied mechanics, vehicle dynamics as well as component design and repair. Centennial College offers exclusive courses such as Advanced Electrical/Electronics, Alternative and Emerging Fuels, Logistics and Hoisting and Rigging while incorporating courses in business, English and general education.
Upon completion, you will be able to seek employment in many different areas of the heavy duty industry, such as an apprenticeship in a repair facility, administrative/managerial roles and with parts departments/suppliers as well, because the program is based on the Heavy Duty Equipment apprenticeship curriculum standards, graduates meet the requirements for level 1 and level 2 in-school apprenticeship training.
